Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac says he has resolved his differences with Inter Milan's Sulley Muntari, having dropped the midfielder for the African Nations Cup.
Rajevac claims he went to Milan to speak to the player ahead of the Nations Cup but that his phone calls were ignored. However, Muntari has now apologised and looks set to claim a place back in the coach's mind in time for the World Cup.
"He called me later and apologised for the misunderstanding and it's now sorted" said Rajevac. "I spent two days in Milan, I called, sent him messages, he was informed I was there but for two days he [did] not respond. After that I thought he didn't [want] to play so I dropped him.
"I spoke to the other players who missed the Angola game and asked them if they wanted to play in the Nations Cup because I wanted players who really wanted to be there and they said yes. That was all I wanted to do with Muntari."
Rajevac said he would also consider many of the players who missed the Nations Cup for the World Cup in June and backed his senior stars to shine.
"For the World Cup you need players with experience," he said. "Players like John Mensah, John Paintsil, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari. They will be important players for the World Cup but it depends on them.
"It depends on how much they want to play, because I want players who are willing to give their best for Ghana. All the players who got the chance in Angola used it very well so there will be a lot of competition."
